Odwa is an accomplished legal professional with an LLB degree from Nelson Mandela University (formerly University of Port Elizabeth) and admission as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa. Odwa has also completed a post-graduate diploma in Business Management and he is currently undergoing training dispute resolution in the construction industry.
Throughout his career, Odwa has been instrumental in leading various initiatives, he served as the head of the Land Acquisition Team and Legal Expert for the Land Legal Team for the Greater Edendale and Vulindlela Development Initiative for 5 years. This inter-governmental initiative seeks to redevelop Edendale in Pietermaritzburg. Additionally, Odwa was instrumental as the Property Manager for the MAJV, , the GeoAfrika-led property portfolio service provider for SANRAL, overseeing a diverse range of property management, identification and acquisition services.
With a strong focus on assisting municipalities with land tenure matters and the acquisition of land in urban, rural, and tribal areas for large-scale developments, Odwa has developed extensive expertise in Public Law. Odwa currently serves as the Service Providers Representative for the PropWatch JV and PropSol JV’s respective contracts with SANRAL.
