Karl is a highly qualified legal professional with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degree from Rhodes University. He is also an admitted attorney and conveyancer of the High Court of South Africa. Since joining HSG in 2014, Karl has served as a Director and head of the Conveyancing Department.
Karl has developed a wealth of expertise in conveyancing, with a particular focus on project-related transactions in both the public and private sectors. He has extensive experience as the appointed conveyancer for a diverse range of projects, including low-income government housing developments, private gated estates, and sectional-title conversions and developments. In addition, Karl has played a key role in time-share-based conveyancing for the First Group throughout South Africa. Karl has specialist knowledge in a range of areas, including land assembly through consolidations and subdivisions, opening of township registers, and sectional-title establishment and transfers.
In addition to his conveyancing-related expertise, Karl has completed training in mediation, co-mediation, and alternate dispute resolution. This training equips him with the skills and knowledge necessary to resolve disputes in a timely and cost-effective manner, without the need for protracted litigation.
