HSG has been involved in the Greater Edendale and Vulindlela Development Initiative (GEVDI) since 1997 through one of its founding partners, Dave Smyly. The initiative started as a joint project between the Department of Human Settlements and Msunduzi Municipality but has since included other departments such as COGTA, Rural Development and Land Reform.

Scope:

Land-legal services, as well as general legal advice
Drafting policies
Dealing with tenure conflict resolutions and tenure rectifications
Ensuring compliance with applicable legislation
Acquisition of land and conveyancing
